WoodOverhead view of a stiff wing collision that occurs relatively late in the wing stroke, recorded at 11,000 frames/sec. The obstacle on the left side of the screen is moved up into the wing path, causing the wingtip to collide. The airframe generally experienced smaller yaw rotations and rotation rates when stiff wing collisions occur late in the wing stroke (high wing stroke phase) compared to early in the wing stroke.
