This file contains detailed information about experimental culturing conditions, methods for seawater chemistry analyses, methods for lipid extraction and analyses, methods for measurements of symbiont density, and methods for environmental data collection. Figure S1 shows representative pictures of Pocillopora damicornis used in this study. Figure S2 shows traits describing the status of freshly-released P. damicornis larvae. Table S1 contains size and volume data for larvae used in Moorea and Taiwan. Table S2 contains data for lipids and other parameters of larvae used in Moorea and Taiwan. Tables S3-S8 contained detailed statistical results.
