Video supplement V1 from A selective fungal transport organ (mycangium) maintains coarse phylogenetic congruence between fungus-farming ambrosia beetles and their symbionts

Larvae of Xylosandrus compactus feeding on conidia of multiple Ambrosiella fungi grown in artificial laboratory galleries– first Ambrosiella beaveri isolated from Xylosandrus discolor, and second Ambrosiella roeperi isolated from Xylosandrus roeperi. Videos were recorded within 10 min of removing larvae from their natural galleries and placing them within artificial galleries that had been previously inoculated with alternative fungi.
