This Electronic Supplemental Material provides additional simulations and data analyses to support our manuscript, "Task Allocation and Site Fidelity Jointly Influence Foraging Regulation in Honey Bee Colonies." In this paper, we developed an Agent-Based model to explore the joint impact of colony-level distribution among tasks and behavioral persistence of individuals on the collective tradeoff between exploring for new resources and exploiting familiar ones. The supplementary material includes the following sections: (1) Recruitment by recruits, (2) Boundary conditions, (3) Experiments with feeders at different distances, (4) Number of resource patches, (5) Comparing Predictions between the System Dynamics and Agent-Based Models, (6) Increasing the rate of recruitment, (6) Colony size, and (7) Increasing flight precision in response to finding a resource.
