Images that produced the measurements on medium viscosity and colony growth rates shown in Figure 3a. The experiment was based on three independent measurements involving a total number of 54 plates. Inoculations were made with 500 cells in the center of complex medium plates (9 cm diameter, YPD) with varying viscosity (% agar), which were grown for seven days at room temperature. The images shown are a representative selection.
