Alignment of the human UTP14A reference sequence with the orangutan genome revealed that about 1.2 kilo-bases of UTP14C coding sequence has been deleted from the genome leaving only the terminal 1.1 kilo-bases of original UTP14C sequence. The alignment with the remaining sequence is indicated by the blue arrow.
